 Apple is reportedly preparing a special update for its new smartphone.



Recent iPhone owners are eagerly awaiting the iOS 26 public beta, scheduled for this week. They'll be able to try out the many new features included in the update and, of course, discover Apple's new Liquid Glass interface. While the Cupertino company is actively working on iOS 26, it's reportedly already working on the next update, iOS 27. Apple is reportedly working on iOS 27 with the ambition of making it perfectly compatible with its upcoming foldable iPhone.

iOS 27 takes care of the foldable iPhone

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has made a rather surprising revelation regarding iOS 27. He reveals that the update could be designed specifically to fit the foldable iPhone . " As part of the development of iOS 27—which will begin soon—Apple will prioritize software features specifically tailored to this new design  ," the journalist notes in his Power On newsletter published this Sunday.

iOS 27 should therefore perfectly match the design of the foldable iPhone, which would open like a book (like Samsung's Fold), while also incorporating features reserved for the device. Of course, it's impossible to know more at the moment since development of the update has not yet begun.

Recall that Mark Gurman also just revealed that the foldable iPhone is expected to be released in early 2026, not September of that year. The smartphone is said to stand out thanks to its impressive battery capacity, ranging from 5,000 to 5,000 mAh. Want to know if the foldable iPhone will be within your reach ? Early reports suggest the foldable iPhone will cost around $2,000 . This is higher than the foldable smartphones already available from Samsung, Google, and Huawei. Will Apple be kicking itself if it does indeed release a foldable iPhone at this price? We'll find out in a few months.
